Vadakkumnathen Temple

Pick up from Thrissur railway station/ bus stand, Move to Vaddakunnathan temple. It is believed that the first Shiva temple created by Lord Parasurama, popularly known as Vadakkunnathan. It is situated at the heart of Thrissur city. It is derived from 'Thiru-Shiva-Peroor', which literally translates to "The city of the sacred Shiva". Vadakkunnathan temple is surrounded by a massive stone wall enclosing an area of nearly 8-9 acres. World famous pooram festival is celebrated here.

Paramekkavu Temple

Paramekkavu is near to Vadakkumnathan Temple at the heart of the city. It is part of Thrissur Hindu Pilgrimage. This is one of the main part of celebrating world famous Thrissur Pooram.
