Peechi Dam

Peechi Dam is settled twenty two kilometer (14 mi) outside Thrissur town in Kerala, India.

The dam was started as associate irrigation project for the encircling villages in Thrissur. At identical time, it catered the beverage wants of the population of Thrissur town. It is associate irrigation dam, reaching bent the paddy fields in and around Thrissur town.

Built across the Manali stream, the dam may be a huge geographical area of nearly three,200 acres (1,300 ha) with intensive botanic gardens and cascading fountains supply varied tantalising avenues for tourists. One will see tuskers on the bank of Peechi-Vazhani life Sanctuary, established in 1958 covering one hundred twenty five sq. kilometres (48 sq mi).
